Molly Sweaters Progress Updates

Well, I posted after I finished the Malfoy Manor afghan that it was on to Molly Sweaters for all of you who have been patiently waiting. And, though I wasn't able to work on them for a few weeks in March thanks to working for a church, husband a pastor and an early Easter, I have been otherwise.

So......... here's where they are now.

21 pairs of Molly sleeves

And some body pieces

So as you can see, they are on their way and I've got them with me to work on while at Mom's !

On the road again....

........... Just like last year I'll be on the road again......

Ok not quite like last year as I'll not be making a trip from Virginia to NOLA and back. I will however, be leaving here after work tomorrow (probably around 2ish) and heading to my mom's in SW Virginia. Monday we leave there and head up to Essex County NJ. She wants to check on the tombstone, visit some friends a bit more than we were able to last year. Going to show the kids around the 'old neighborhood' in Belleville. Authentic fish n chips in Kearny! Returning to Virginia on Friday and heading back this way on Saturday with a stop over at

Do you ever feel....

.. so completely out of place and out of step with everything in so many things???

It's how I'm feeling right now. Not sure where I belong... If I belong... What I should be doing in so many places of my life and activities. Either I enjoy what I'm doing but feel so out of the loop............. Or I have no idea what I should be doing and feel like I'm so very much in the way to others....
Which Goddess lurks in your soul?

Hecate

You hold more power in your little finger than most do in their entire being! Hecate is perhaps the most selective of all deities who inhabit the souls of mortals. Being the goddess of the crossroads, Cosmic Knowledge, and of course witches and magic she can’t be bothered by residing in the souls of the mundane. She often chooses those who practice the craft of the old ways and those who harbor deep mystical secrets that must be kept close. Your soul is old, perhaps having been present at the birth of the cosmos in some form or another. Your ability to comprehend the necessity of death and it’s beauty have awakened a connection to the underworld, where Hecate has been known to reign and you relish this otherworldly bond. Darkness suits you well, as many of the best secrets of the cosmos can be found there.

So lately....

Craftwise been working on Molly sweater sleeves and progressing along there. Going to take them with me to work on at mom's next weekend and during our trip to NJ. Also completed a headpiece for to fit a Luna Lovegood type outfit. Just needs ribbon. Hope you like it!

Had to take the car in for oil change at Walmart today before leaving this coming Friday for Virginia/NJ trip. As she's taking info, asks if we want the fuel injector process that cleans out the fuel injector ports for better gas mileage and smoother running. Most definitely as we were just going to fill with hi-test and 4 bottles of injector cleaner because the car was not running right and they needed cleaning. The four bottles were $12 not counting the extra cost of hi-test as opposed to regular and their process was only $19.95 so went with it. Did some shopping we had to do and about an hour later checked back and the mechanic tells us that the oil change has been done and "they were starting the other now." Another 30 min should be done. Off to have a coffee while waiting and then back and a bit after we returned, they pull our car out and bring in the keys.

No paperwork so the hunt begins to find out what's up. Mechanic signed off on oil change but not other process. Support Manager takes off to find out that they never did the second part yet and brings our car back in, apologizes and he and the store manager tell us they aren't charging for the second process because of mix up. Glad to have been treated fairly, we wait for them to do it and about 20-30 min later, support manager is calling us out to bay.

Seems they did the flushing, cleaned it all out and refilled the radiator with fresh antifreeze. Start the car and the car blows out all the fluid in radiator. *major headdesk moment* However, Support Mgr is quick to tell me that if not simply a loose hose, they will send it to be fixed at place of our choosing, pay for it AND pay for a rental but they are going to search now and see why it happened. In the end turned out to be minor... our car comes with an overheat valve on radiator down at the back bottom. Engine gets hot during flushing and apparently it forced it out the overheat valve. They filled it fresh and everything is running fine.

Since I'm taking the trip tho, Support Mgr gives me paper with all their store info including his name, his service manager's name and the auto dept's manager's name and should I have any trouble with overheating or related problems to what they did, I should go to any Walmart automotive center and have them contact any one of them to arrange repair, billing it to their store and a rental for me till its done while traveling. While it ended up being a 3 hour adventure I have to admit they did their best to work it all out for us.

And I've received some awesome squeemail over the past week or two!

From , a wolf charm and from a twilight crafts button :D

Also from Ofenjen, for supporting the "Merlin Ate an Acorn" Fund some awesome quilt squares that I am planning on framing:

From ... the dvd for pc of Sims 2 :D I've got a music CD mix to send her but have a few more things I want to add to the envelope before mailing!

And from Mousie & Jules in Melbourne (yes Australia!), the most wonderful large envelope of goodies! 2 John Marsden books, 2 cd's of Aussie bands, 2 ecobags from the Safeway Mousie works for and 2 HP OOTP Eco bags she found at Kmart there! And a little white stuffed bunny that had a note saying his name was Lenard

Hard to Believe....

... that as of today it has been a year. The seasons still change. The sun still rises and sets. The moon still follows it cycle and lights the night sky. And he's been gone a year. Some days its not hard at all. Some days, a simple thing brings a memory and I laugh or cry or both. In that year, the family has gone on and supported each other through it all. But no matter what, you're missed.

I love you, Dad.

More on the Ren Faire trip

So left Friday after Joe got off work and headed to[info]quietish's for the night and to go to the Medieval Faire in Norman, OK.   Posted some of the photos from it the other day.

We slept on the pullout couch in the living room and sometime during the night, I heard Joe talking to someone and moving around and heard the following conversation between hubby and the female waits hobbit as he woke up to the feeling of being watched and found her face 3" from his as she simply stood there quietly:

Joe:  J?  What's wrong?
J:  It's time to get up
Joe:  *grapples around looking for remote with time on it, finds it*  No it's not.  It's only 4:30.  Time to go back to bed.
J:  Oh okay *sound of feet running around pullout bed to parents' bedroom door and the door being thrown open IT'S 4:30!

Hehhe... we simply lay their laughing at it.

The Faire was wonderful and we watched the jousting, the juggler and wandered among the stalls of vendors.  I found a black panne market dress for future faires and also for HP conferences.  Also two necklaces, one is a dragon curled around a red and black stone and the other the crescent moon around a dark rainbow one.  The moon necklace and dress will work for the persona   is helping me create as her minion, Moira Moonbeam.  Joe found a dirk he's been wanting at a very very good price there.

Justin managed to get a shot of us in our garb as well

From right to left, myself,  and Joe.

Happy Anniversary Today

After a great Palm Sunday service with the dedication of the new lightup outdoor cross that was donated to our church, I took Joe out for Chinese after, looked over at him as we ate and said, "By the way, Happy Anniversary!"  His eye went wide, his color drained and his mind worked overtime wondering what he was forgetting and how much trouble it was getting him into.  "No it's not... May"  (our wedding Anniversary).  I smiled.  "Happy Anniversary"  watching him continue to try to remember what he forgot.  Finally,  I gave in and told him.  "For you, dear.  Happy Ordination Anniversary"  For it was five years ago today, Joe was ordained as a minister and began his ministry as a pastor.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY - 5 YEARS ORDAINED, JOE!

I love you. :)

*drumroll* Malfoy Manor

As I've mentioned earlier, I have two friends who have had a somewhat rough time of it last year and wanted to do something special for them.  I get ideas but can't always translate them to a graph.   graciously took my design concept and created the graph for me so that I could crochet this.  Now my owl won't be able to depart with this package until later next week but I have some rather impatient friends who have been dying to see what it is and what it looks like finished.

Of course, the recipients should be able to figure out it's for them when they see this photo!  So without further ado, Friends and Fiends, I give you

It is.....

DONE!  The sekkrit project is completed.  No, haven't taken a photo yet but will post one sometime today as soon as I can find a place to lay it out and take one

Organization & Sekkrit Projects

Remember a few posts ago?  I commented about getting my scrapbooking supplies organized into a nice seven drawer chest from Walmart???  Yeahhhhhhh well, apparently those drawers multiply like rabbits and wire hangers in a closet cause now.......

and that's not counting the one my husband got for his craft stuff or the one in the bathroom with all our hba supplies in it!  We're planning to get at least two more -- one for each of us!

And I've also been making progress on that sekkrit project

Ok yes I know that's not really very telling though considering what was already done is tucked under, but if I showed it out, then it won't be a surprise for its intended home!  :D

Dark is the Night

You are darkness and moonlight and a sky full of stars. You're nocturnal, but not in a lonely way. You are the moment when an unbelievably good rock show goes into its third encore. Just when everyone starts to wonder if it's finally over, the band runs back on stage and starts another song. You are the time of night when everybody knows it's getting late, but nobody wants to go home. You are the smoke machines, still going strong, and the stage lights that make that smoke glow blue and red. You are the warm mass of people singing along in unison, the sweaty rockers, the guitar solo, and that split second when you could swear the lead singer looked in your direction.

Cut Out and Keep

So if you're on Cut-Out & Keep, just look for Dragonsinger and friend me while you're there :)

Accomplished!

Tonight I managed to take this:

and organize it all into this:

Found this at Walmart for only 18.88 and even has wheels on it. Got one to organize all my scrapbooking supplies into and worked on that tonight. Joe also got one for his craft supplies and tools and have two more here that I still have to organize -- fabric/sewing into one, crafts into another.
