One of those days....

Having given jenn a laugh today after it happened, figure you'll all enjoy this too.

I left work and had to do some stuff in Ft Smith (about a 50 mi drive from here) and since I didn't have lunch, Istopped in Pocola (about 3/4 the way) at a Tote-A-Poke convenience store for a drink and sandwich (you know the premade factory packed ones?). I go to the registers and there's about 4-5 guys in there making purchases or waiting to pay for gas and 3 women working the counter.

Waiting my turn, I sorta stand back to see whose in what line and when a guy leaves, the woman says "Next" and so I start to head there and one of the men waiting does too. We both stop and he says go ahead and I told him its fine since he was waiting first and as i do, I indicate with the hand holding the sandwich for him to go ahead.

At which point the sandwich flys out of my hand, hitting the guy in the crotch *headdesk*

I'm turning red and apologizing while all the other men, who apparently know him are going on about how that'll teach ya to cut her off in line
Add in that the women behind the counter also know him and are telling him You sooooo deserved that (apparently he's a practical joker) and one woman told me I'm her hero and she's sooo glad she was there to see this.

*sigh*

Craft goodness and some bargain finds

Just finished my project for Class #5 - Ancient Runes. It had to be something monogrammed and while there was another choice, this is the one that I picked. Instead of monogramming it with the modern alphabet (or rune) I used the Ogham and chose the "muin" for mine. Besides phonectically sounding like our 'm', its also the ogham for my birthdate according to celtic astrology. So I made a bag for runestones with it.

Also got these crocheted this week too!

The Slytherin set will be owling its way to a certain home in New England and the other ones, well we'll just have to see where they end up! *smiles innocently*

Also, work had their spring yard sale today. I'm not sure if this is a benefit or disaster waiting to happen but I get to 'shop' if I spot anything during the week when they set up. This time I came home with these goodies

These crocheted Mile-a-Minute strips and I think there's enough here to complete an afghan at the least. I'll be sending these your way , for The Linus Connection

Also found myself assorted shoes - 9 pair and brand names! A pair of Birkenstock sandals, 3 pairs of Teva sandals... and a few others of the brand names I normally can't afford! 4 coffee mugs for a project I have in mind. A small teapot, a pottery containter that's small but nice and useful. Some books for hubby.

I also purchased this!

The model is a CSP1 and it was only used 6 times.

Definitely a productive week in many ways :D

Now to work on something for Muggle Studies class and to continue working on my OWL in Ancient Runes.. an afghan with hubby's name and the sigil for a woman' loving man on it

Yes, I'm graphing it myself

Crafty Spam with Photos

For the past couple of weeks or so, I've been working away on various crochet projects including these three Molly Sweaters. These were made for the auction winner at the OKC Yule Ball, , and , respectively . Have seven more of them in progress

Then, using 's pattern for the reversible hat I created this entry for the April/May challenge

Those colors look a little familiar? They should .............
After all Molly Weasley does need a warm hat to go with her sweater *grins

I've also been working on the HPKCHC classes which opened May 1st on Ravelry and the hat was submitted and accepted as a Charms assignment and for Defense against the Dark Arts, I just completed and submitted these cup cozys. :D

Currently working on a baby mandrake for herbology *grins*

Oops

Oh Merlin!  Did it again...  let life roll by and failed to update anything here again.  Hmmm  Guess I'd better remedy that today.

It's been a bit of a time to organize myself a bit.  Cleaning out areas at home, at work, on line.  Organizing crafts, getting yarn stash out of storage (*stares at 9 large rubbermaid tubs and insists she does not have a yarn problem*)  On Facebook, deleted some applications that I just don't enjoy though I did keep Pieces of Flair and a few others :D.  Same with a few other places I'm on.

Mostly, just trying to catch up with my own life and take some time for me.  Which I've managed to do a bit of.  Crocheting still.  Working on several Molly Sweaters including ones for  ,  , the winner of one at the OKC Mistletoe Masquerade Ball,  ,  , and a few others.  Also working on a Team Jacob tote for  ,  the winner of the last challenge at

Finished an afghan for my friend's grandson aka my mini-me *grins*

Also made lid handle holders for the potholder swap   conducted

Met up with quietish in Tulsa a couple of weekends ago and spent time with her hobbits as she went to a concert.  Had fun with the pair and was good to catch up with her and meet Kassey.   As you can see, someone manages to make themself at home whereever he is :D lol

Yesterday, had been planning to see Taken in Ft Smith with hubby after doing some shopping we needed to do but the car decided it had other ideas as both front tires went bad while we were out forcing a purchase of 2 new tires at one of the Walmart's there.  Today, we're just relaxing at home having a HP movie marathon on a cold rainy Saturday though at least today we don't have the Tornado Sirens blaring for an hour like we did last night.   Work for me is getting busy as the most busiest week on the Liturgical Calender begins in one week.  Joe's work is cutting hours which means cutting paychecks short but its still better than no job at all.

Well, back to crochet!

Pic spam, news spam, all kinda spam!

Ok so its been awhile since I've really sat down and updated. I've popped in news when I could or when it really had to be said but I'm so behind in other topics I decided now was as good a time to work on updating as ever.

This would have occured sooner but as I was finally dealing with the loss of our friends' son last month, the ugly drama llama tried to move in and live here as the result of a comment I made. Unfortunately, it resulted in my unfriending someone and if you're reading this, well then its' not you :). Disagreements are one thing but when someone dares try to get to me by going after my friends, ...... Well, I'm Hufflepuff, nuff said! The end result is this lj is now friends only. But its done, its over and the drama llama is in search of other housing.

We did have a quiet but lovely Valentine's Day with dinner at Leoncia's in Fort Smith which has become a very favorite place of ours. They make us feel like family when there. We had planned on ringing in 2009 there but both of us were fighting winter colds and just remained home and comfy. Joe gave me a huge Valentine Trevor (frog/toad) and his gift was a book he had been wanting on Cherokee history, legends and myths.

Christmas was a all too quick trip to Ohio to spend with Joe's mom and 4 of his 5 siblings (#5 lives in Lubbock). First time he's been able to visit them since our honeymoon in 2002 and first Christmas with them in about 20 years. It was great, fun, good food (Mom C makes an awesome fruitcake and I've now got her recipe) good times, all too short!

Christmas A.M. at Mom C's Opening her gift from us

The gift - I started this the weekend before when we knew we were going for sure

Oh and now that I finally was able to mail 99% (Cat, yours are here just waiting till a payday with extra for postage) of the Christmas gifts out, I can show you what my darling hubby has spent the past year working on for gifts this past Christmas for my fellow Crafty Witches and friends.

had posted this back before the holidays and I took photos but never got them uploaded till this week. Sooooooo here's my favorite mug(s) (can't decided on just one) and a bonus of fav glasses too!

I have 2 favorite mugs for coffee or tea. The firstone has the moon and stars, something I feel a very close connection with. The second my vampire mug *grins*. I alternate between the two of them at home.

For hot chocolate or a mug of soup/broth, I love these two tigger mugs both gifts from my husband.

And for the bonus round, my favorite drink glass also having the moon and stars on which was a wonderful thrift shop find as were the first two mugs. Oh and , I'm sure you recognize my lovely coaster *grins again*

And there was Christmas squeemail arriving here to be had!

made me a Hufflepuff Crafty Witch shirt (the Crafty Witch Leaky Cauldron is on the reverse side) Sugar Quill ornaments she made and dragon stickers!

knows how to make Christmas merry with a Bella Swan hat original pattern she created after seeing the movie a couple few lost count of times, yarn for my stash, beautiful hp House snowflakes and so many other goodies including a hand crafted twilight ornament in a black velvet bag!

From the kitchen of mmmm

All the way from the Land Down Under, hardhatcat sent TimTams, ornaments, Aussie treats and my favorite liquorice bullets and allsorts!

Ok I think I'm finally up to date! Whew!

Then again, no I'm not caught up! But it will be posted later *grins*
