Christmas

Ok yes I have been absolutely totally slack on Christmas. The extent of my decorating is *points to icon*. But considering all our decorations are still in storage for the third holiday in a row, it's a bit hard to try decorating :(

the past few weeks have been a bit rough as it's first Thanksgiving, his birthday and holidays without my father. Turn on any Christmas music and I get weepy.

I have a beautiful card from my two favorite fiends alabastard and alabastardragon and it really really helped brighten a hard day for me by arriving on dad's birthday and reminding me I'm not alone. Thank you both... *hugs*

Over the weekend a very surprise package arrived from a certain crafty witch in Australia! Thanks so much hardhatcat. Pictures will be forthcoming.

Today, I have a squee mail from ofenjen and it's delicious. Picture? Yeah yeah, I know
freakyartychickhad enough self control to take a photo before delving in but then I'm not her :D LOL. But it looked just like hers too :D *hugs Jen* thanks and its delicious:

And zomg! the cutest Hufflepuff christmas card fromlezlishae That girl is amazing with duct tape!!! *hugs* hard.

I'm still trying to get cards done.. I've moved them closer to the desk -- which is an improvement over last year :D

Joe and I have been preparing for the holidays at the church and celebrating Advent in the meantime each Sunday. I have managed to be somewhat productive in obtaining or making ornaments for the congregation for each Sunday so far and attaching explanations or 'histories' with them. So far have done the Christmas Nail, the Candy Cane, the Star. Currently working on beaded crosses for this coming Sunday and we have little Nativity snow globes for the communion service this coming Wednesday night.

Have also been productive on another project for HPC. It's getting there Jen :)

Anything other Christmas shopping??? Not even started :(

Ah well, just taking it one day at a time.

Bloody Hell!

You are 65% English.

Getting there. You may wish to pay attention to the world around you.

"And did those feet
In ancient times,
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
In England's pleasant pastures seen?"

Well, no, but it's a cracking good tune.

How English are you?

CAT DIARY

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their
feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it
clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I
could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement
was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and
how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try
this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My
captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he
is
safe.

For now......

Vampire?

You Could Definitely Be a Vampire

Immortality, staying pretty forever, not having to get a job... you could definitely eat some flesh for these things.
It's not that you're a murderer by nature. In fact, you're probably the furthest thing from it.
However, if you woke up a vampire, you'd certainly be able to adapt and enjoy your new lifestyle.
There might not be much better than living forever, even if it means giving up your soul.

What you would like best about being a vampire: Being a total outsider

What you would like least about being a vampire: Other vampires

Welcome to my weyr

Snagged from

Your home is a

Spawn-camping Wizard's Stronghold

Your kitchen is manned by a team of Keebler Drow Elves. There's a pantry with emergency backup caffeinated beverages. You also have some breakfast cereals in there, but you haven't had breakfast since last Spring. Your master bedroom is decorated to look like the treetop village of the Galadhrim. Your study has every fantasy novel ever written, including multiple editions of the Silmarillion and advance copies of Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition.

Your home also includes a roost for griffons. You've never actually seen a griffon, but you keep the roost ready anyway. Your guests enjoy your home theater with hi-def plasma screen TV, and the thrones you watch it from. Outside is the moat that protects your home from goblin invaders and extended family.

And, you have a pet -- a unicorn named "Shadowhooves".

Stitch Stirrers Prompt #1

Having joined in on Stitch Stirrers, here's the first prompt:

Even if you don’t consider yourself a poet, this should be fun and easy. Your mission is to write a limerick–or several–about crochet. No starting with “There once was a man from Nantucket…” though!
What is a limerick? A limerick is a short poem, oftentimes humorous (although it doesn’t have to be), which consist of five lines. Lines 1, 2, and 5 should all three rhyme with each other, as should lines 3 & 4, thus creating a rhyme-scheme of aabba.
Need more info to get you started? Do a Google search on “example of limericks” or check out this site: How to Write a Limerick.
Have fun!

And here's my crochet Limerick for it! I have been recently turning out quite a few of Shelle Cain's Coat of Many Colors sweater based on the one Molly Weasley wears in Prisoner of Azkaban. soooooooooo

There once was a sweater on Molly
That turned out to be quite jolly
The pattern was made
She crocheted and crocheted
And put all of her friends in a Molly!

ouch?

Colorgenics quiz

Is it that you are working - or even playing - too hard? Because it would seem that you are experiencing a great deal of pent-up emotion at this time which could possibly take effect and lead to irrational behaviour.

You are working extremely hard trying to improve your image. You need for those people in positions that matter to recognise your potential and to acknowledge you.

Your involvements seldom measure up to your high emotional expectations and your 'needs' to be 'loved' and 'cared for' have in the past often led to extreme disappointment. But a change is in the wind - make a firm decision to start anew. Just 'think' it..and it will happen.

You pretend that you are a carefree individual and that nothing really bothers you - that you are so self-sufficient that whatever problems beset you they simply flow off you as water flows off a ducks back. You are experiencing considerable stress, trying to conceal yourself from the rest of the world. In actual fact - deep down, you are not at all happy. You feel lonely and you need someone with whom you can 'Let your hair down' and share your hopes, dreams and high standards. You are imposing unnecessary self restraint on yourself. You would like to demonstrate the unique quality of your character to all and sundry.

At this time you don't particularly like yourself. Everything that you have tried to do seems to have gone wrong. This makes you feel that there is no point in trying to start again. Apart from being stressed and tense, you are angry with yourself and have unadmitted self-contempt. Your refusal to admit that you and you alone is the basic cause of your problems leads to you adopting a headstrong and defiant attitude. If you take stock of yourself, smile a little and let go, everything will turn out OK. Have you not heard of the cliche 'smile and the world smiles with you - cry and you cry alone!'?

I am pleased to introduce to you.......

Vladimir..... My new laptop replacing Marius who stopped working near the end of that nice 16 day trek of mine in May. And yes, I know several of you knew I planned to name this one either Marius or Maharet. However, as I was setting him up, my mind was commanding my right index finger to type "m" while my left index finger is hitting "v" and the typing just continued until he was named Vladimir. He wanted Vladimir he got Vladimir :D

Still have some programs to add but up running and we're getting along quite nicely though Vista is 'interesting' ^_-

And as promised earlier some photos from Squee Mail received over my birthday weekend.

First off apologies to kimberly_elf for completely forgetting to mention the lovely photo album she designed and had sent to me with memories from Phoenix Rising that arrived on that Thursday:

Friday found the beautiful original design afghan from hp5freak

Come Tuesday, Alucard found his way to my home courtesy of Dragon Breeder jennbrad52

And just because I never did get a picture posted when I got it, this is Iggy the Owl made by quietish and he came home with me when I went to visit her for Mugglefest in June. Also pictured is his sister, Toriya who came home with me also!

And in case you're wondering, yes I do love red and black, very much :D

Quietish Did It!!!

Yep, she sure did. It's alllll quietish's fault! She made me do it. Forced me to put my name on that waiting list for Ravelry by dangling it right under my nose while I was at her house for Mugglefest!! And today I got my invite!

So you can now visit me on Ravelry at Dragonsinger

You Know You Have......

..... too much HP on the brain when your husband is preaching and using eagles and their characteristics as examples and

He says: Eagles are intelligent birds
You think: RAVENCLAW

He says: Eagles are Loyal
You think: HUFFLEPUFF

He says: Eagles are Couragous
You think; GRYFFINDOR

He says Eagles will fend for themselves when they have to
And you think SLYTHERIN

So He Sends ME To The Meeting.

One of the disadvantages of Joe being a "part-time" pastor is that he has to work a full-time secular job and cannot always get a day off for different meetings in the District and State. While he was able to take a vacation day last thursday for one in OKC, he could not get yesterday off for a charge reports training session but was allowed to send someone in his place. Ergo...... ME!

Took my crochet of course, left here at got to the meeting and upon returning home with my notes and handouts, the following conversation ensues:

Joe: Hey!
Me: Hi! Home! *hugs*
Joe: How was the meeting?
Me: Great!!! I got 3/4 of the body of a Molly sweater done at it
Joe: *facepalm*

Ladies and Gentlemen! It's the Muppet Show! Yayyyyyy *flails*

Gacked from Mj!

Ok While I may look like Miss Piggy, I knew I wasn't as outgoing as her........ but Scooter??? Whodda thunk it!

You Are Scooter

Brainy and knowledgable, you are the perfect sidekick.
You're always willing to lend a helping hand.
In any big event or party, you're the one who keeps things going.
