Making a connection
Its always neat to make online friends. It's even neater to meet them in person when you can. This week, I have had that opportunity again when Rosemary spent the week in Ft. Smith.
I was able to spend Tuesday and today with her and it was a blast. Her kids are darling! Tuesday, Cian came over and hugged me, asked me my name and then took my hand and kissed it. Not bad for a 2 yr old.......he'll be quite the ladies' man one day! :) Jaime is a real cute one, and does not like to see anyone upset at all.
Needless to say we hit the crafts stores as well as Books A Million. Spent time crafting and talking and just enjoying finding someone else with the same likes and interests as self.
*Sigh* Do you HAVE to go home tomorrow, Rose??????????

The Hermit
For some reason, around this time of year, I tend to "hermit". Hide away, don't talk much. Communication becomes an effort. Motivation disappears.
I think that is kind of obvious since my last entry was over a month ago :)
But I have come to the conclusion lately that its ok not to have anything to say. Instead, I have been listening. At night, when its quiet here, I hear outside. The slight whisper of a breeze past the closed windows. The sharpness of a sudden thunderstorm. The sound of the rain hitting various objects.
Why? Right now I don't know. I just know its what has been happening.
Is anything wrong? Oh heck yea.....of course there is. Just the fact that we are alive means something will be wrong. Its life....Life is not perfect. Not a fairytale. Things are going to be wrong. But it doesn't mean life is not good either. Just means its going to take more work. Maybe that's why the quiet time. Resting before the work commences? I know I have learned that maybe we humans spend too much time talking and not enough time listening. I need to get back to active listening and that has also been apart of this past few weeks.
People have not understood where I am coming from right now. That's ok. Not sure if I do either. But I am beginning to realize that right now, I am not really in a bad place....just a different place.
Time for a new season?

They couldn't just leave it at Scrapping
Nope, Angie and Rose weren't happy with just getting me addicted to scrapbooking. They couldn't leave it at that! Nope, they had to taunt and tempt me with more. Art journal....everytime you turned, they were posting photos of the new cover they made or their latest entry.
WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, are you 2 happy?????????????? Look what I got at Walmart Saturday.
I do hope you plan on helping me figure out what to do for my cover??????????? LOL

And the question is, What is Da Train!!!!!!! Da Train!!!!!!!!!!
A. A confused Tattoo running to tell Mr. Rourke the guests are coming.
B. The inland version of Fantasy Island called Fairytale Prairie
or
C. A Heavener employee explaining to their supervisor why they are late for work.
If you guessed "C", you are correct. Yes, that is the one guaranteed reason for being late that is never questioned in this town. The town is completely divided in half......west and east sides by railroad track. There are 3 crossings...2 are 2 blocks apart.....the third is about 4 blocks down and when you get a long train going slow (and they all do), there is no getting across.
Welcome to Heavener :\

Happenings lately
Its been a quiet week......work, relaxing at home....big trip of the weekend was out to do laundry yesterday. Church this morning.
Prayers please for my friend Heather's dad. He was taken to the hospital this morning...heart. So far he is stable. But prayers are appreciated:)
Friday, after work, rode with a friend to Ft. Smithwhile she visited one of their congregation members in the hospital there. Stopped for lunch at the China Taste Buffet on the way out of town. Yummmmmmm:D
While she spent time visiting. I did some crocheting in the lobby. From there, we detoured over to Books A Million where I got a copy of Eragon and a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, a pack of Fizzing Whizbees, and a bag of Drooble's Best Blowing Gum as well as a Harry Potter/Prof Snape Bookmark, all of which I found on sale!! Best way to do it!!
6 more days and we'll be heading to Amity, MO. Looking forward to a couple of days out of town with my hubby. Now, if I can only deal with putting our dogs in the kennel! LOL

Saturday jottings
Well, its been an interesting couple of days.
Finished my first week at my new job yesterday. Enjoying it and looking forward to Monday morning.
Both yesterday and today, I managed to crochet some both on my big afghan that is over half done and on another one that I just started this week. Both are done on the diagonal in a shell pattern stitch. Plus did some work on my counted cross stitch Celtic Wedding Blessing. Also got the laundry done, bills paid and a trip to Atwoods for some steel cable and fixings to fix Rowan's lead.
The cable we used for her lead said good for up to 184 lbs.........guess they didn't take into consideration the power of 75 lbs with a good running start :\ A strange dog came in the yard......and that was all she had to see.....she was off and snapped her lead cable. After Joe finally caught up with her........we went and got the stronger cable -- the one good for 800 lbs. Let's see what she can do with that!
Maybe I can accomplish some more stitching tomorrow after church

Second day of work and I really enjoy the time I spend at the office. Have gotten the routine down fairly well for the food pantry part of it. Rest is basic office things.
Getting warmer here again.........fortunately not as bad as a couple of weeks ago when temperatures were over 100! But warm enough to notice it LOL
Some sites I found enjoyable lately:

Its been a mixed type of weekend.
Spent yesterday doing the "Saturday Chores" type of day......vacuuming, changing the sheets, laundry. Well and of course......catching up on line with Angie and Rose......kept hoping Heather would show up on IM but no luck! I miss you Heather:(
Didn't get any stitching or stuff done on Saturday but did begin working on knitting some pygmy puffs. Someone tell me WHY I pick eyelash yarn for my first ever knitting project????? LOL
Joe has been nursing a cold this weekend. Hopefully he will feel better by tomorrow for work. Speaking of work, I start my new job tomorrow -- part time secretary for First UMC here in town. Hours are 9 to noon and I'm looking forward to it.
Ok, I still haven't figured out how this happened BUT somehow today, I let Rose talk me into becoming an Administrator for her Nine & 3/4. Boy is she going to have alot of teaching to do!!

People !
Its amazing how many people refuse to look at things and make a decision for themselves anymore. Because so and so said it, it HAS to be true. Because it was on the internet.......because I got it in an email.........that's proof its true.
Gee and how many of these people study and come to knowledge of things on their own rather than be spoonfed someone else's opinion.
Better yet..........How many of these same people actually STUDY their bible??????
No, I don't mean sit down and read a few chapters and close it for the day.
No I don't mean pick up a daily devotional book, read the entry for that day and close it.
I mean pick up your Bible and STUDY what they are reading? Looking up meanings, checking translations, actually letting God's Holy Spirit teach and lead them rather than some "man". Man's wisdom is folly in God's eyes.
Refusing to study for oneself and then judging others who do is just plain hypocritical.

Hot, hazy Saturday
Well, not just Saturday. Pretty much this entire week......108 yesterday!!!!!!!!!! And there's really not much you feel like doing when its this hot.
Today, we have managed to get some things done around the house.....laundry, looking for a few things, organizing. Joe did some cleaning up in the yard......oooooooo and he just informed me I should NOT leave out the fact that he did some mowing and weed eating as well LOL.
We've had 3 power surges in the past hour..........Joe said you could hear very distant thunder when he was just outside.........and alot of it!
Maybe we'll get a good storm.......and it will help cool things off!

Which HP Character are you most like?
http://www.beliefnet.com/section/quiz/index.asp?sectionID=&surveyID=49
25 - 42
You're dreamy and absent-minded, though you often show startling intelligence. Sometimes you're Luna Lovegood, Harry's spacy acquaintance; at your best, you're Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, far more serious-minded than your behavior might imply.

First Steps
Today, I did my first scrapbooking page. Now mind you, I've made up my mind to do this in May. I had purchased everything I needed. But yet, I waited this long to attempt it.............to make that first step.
Ironically, the page is entitled First Date, first step..........
Sooooooooooooooo, why is it so hard to take that first step sometimes?
And when you least expect it to be, like with this scrapbooking page. I mean, its only paper......I can redo it if I don't like it.......so why wait so long? Yet, other times.....I can just jump right in and do whatever it is.
The more I think about it, the more I realize............how come its so easy to trust God with the big stuff and not the little stuff? Isn't He in ALL of it??????? I have to remember more that if it matters to me then it will matter to Him as well.

A beginning
Every thing must have a beginning and here is mine.
Finally, I take the jump at blogging. Am I totally ready and enthused? No, not really. I wonder how much can I share without becoming totally transparent. But maybe it's time to have someplace to open up.
Tonight, I just sit here and get used to the idea that I have my own blog.
Something to enter?
How about, a new job. the end of this month, I start as a pt admin. Something to help us out and get me up and out of the house more often. Not alot to do in a small town.
Not a bad place.........but not alot here to offer people.
From here, we shall see where this goes.
