Funeral at work this morning. Now this does not mean I don't have to do my normal type work, just that I have to make sure things are ready in the sanctuary and such as well.

On phone placing order for our upcoming VBS, funeral director comes in, don't bother to ask if I'm busy or even notice I'm on phone. Justs tells me he needs fellowship hall door unlocked (on other side of church). Told him soon as I was done, he left. Continued placing the order. Was in the process of giving credit card info for billing.... He comes back and yet again does not bother to ask if I'm busy or even notice I'm on phone. "That door needs to be open! I have family wanting to get in!" I hold phone where it is rather visible and tell him "Soon as I am done! I'm still on this call!" He storms out says he'll do it himself.

Weekend in Arkansas

Well, it's been a rather sore but fun weekend.

The sore came in Friday morning as I was walking about about to begin 3rd lap and decided to channel my "Inner Bella Swan" . Tripped and went down, skinning palm of hand, jamming same arm back into shoulder. Skinning knee which has also formed a rather bright bruise.

Got home and did shower and get to work. Spent rest of day nursing knee and packing for weekend. Had to skip walking yesterday.

Left Saturday at noonish for Glenwood, AR where friends of ours - Cindy and David Loven - pastor a church and were celebrating the church's 15th anniversary. We went to attend and help out. Service Saturday night at 6 with reception after and then this morning with potluck after. Last night, just as church began, heavy rain and thunder. Not long into service, Cindy discovered that water was coming into the kitchen area. So her and I and on of the youth were finding any and all available cloths to sop it up. At one point it was at last one inch deep in on area. The church in on a hill side and apparently, the water runs down the side of the hill if the rain is heavy enough which fortunately has only been twice so far this year.

We go back into the sanctuary, sitting in a back pew and their bishop who is visiting for th celebration is preaching and says that when it was time to open the church people came not just to attend but to work as well be it teaching, nursery or "even picking up mops and buckets." We couldn't help it and had to laugh as quietly as we could manage back there. :D

So we had to make a run to Ft Smith last night for some needed crafting supplies and a few other things. Since Joe works 10 hrs, we stopped for dinner there at an Asian Buffet. When we had come out, a dark green Pontiac Grand Prix was parked on the right side of MY dark green Pontiac Grand Prix. I went to the driver's side of mine and looked over.........

Reason #59 Why.....

...I'm Glad I Was An Only Child -- Children's Sermons.

Joe preached at the church I work for today and had to do children's sermon as well. His scriptures were Noah's ark and psalm 46 and his theme was even though God is with us thru everything - even the storms, being a christian still means we have hard work to do. He sits down with the children on the steps at the altar and asks them... "Any of you have animals to take care of?"

They nod and answer with yes
Joe: "Hard work isn't it?"
Again they nod and there are definite oh yes answers again.
Joe: "How many do you have?"
One little girl: "We have some cats and a dog."
One brother and sister "We have 8 dogs"
Joe: "That's alot of work isn't it?"

and goes on with his topic after they agree. As he makes his point that we still have work to do and it will be hard, the sister pipes up with "Does that mean I still have to clean my room?" After being told yes, and laughter, her brother adds "Mom and dad get mad cause she always leaves her clothes on the floor and the puppies go in and poop on them."

From the look she gave him, something tells me we might want to pray for his healing

I was supposed to get a standard sized car but all they had was a PT cruiser. They offered my choice of

Ford Focus (can we say sardine can on wheels)
Chevy Consort (GM sardine can on wheels)

Neither an option when hubby is 6' 1"

Dodge Dakota pickup (yeaaaaaaaaaaah I don't do trucks ^_-)

PT cruiser (not even )

And the sportage. *sigh* too used to the grand prixs we have to like it) But better than the other choices

Dropped the car off at the body shop and Enterprise was supposed to pick me up at 3 (we set appointment yesterday) to take me to their location in Ft Smith (45 miles, yes that's the closest one). I was to call when I was on way to body shop for sure. I did only to be told "Well we have another pickup set for 3:30" ^_- Yep, had to wait. Then driver doesn't get there till 3:45. But finally got to pick up rental and hope they don't have to total the black grand prix (other one is green)

Oh dear

Body shop estimate is for $20 over car value. Insurance Adjuster says if will stay there, then no problem. If it goes over... car has to be totalled.

Don't want car totalled. Like this car. Just needs to have headlight.

Alternative is total, buy back and use money to fix ourselves. She can't give figures without a lot of running around. *sigh*

Six Years Today!

Along with celebrating Memorial Day weekend, we also are celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary today! Sometimes, it seems like its not been that long and other times... Well, I can't remember how it was without him :)

However, we did our celebration yesterday by taking in a movie double header. Both of us have been wanting to see two different movies since we first heard about both of them over a year ago. So we went to both!! Then dinner at Ryan's Buffet after.

Joe grew up reading the Iron Man comics. I grew up watching one of the first animes here in the U.S. Speed Racer (Yes I have spent my travels back from NJ collecting the McDonald's toys and currently am only missing the red and black car of the japanese driver :D!!)



Both were truly awesome and both followed the originals rather well and quite closely! Can't wait for sequels!!

*toddles off to listen to her Speed Racer Soundtrack for the nth hundredth time today :D
